The OSO Reset

The Air Reset

Commercial HEPA air scrubbing that captures airborne particles while it runs — paired with odor-focused treatment and optional carpet cleaning. We take a particle count before we start and after we finish, and you get both numbers. A service you can see, measure, and understand.

Carpet acts like a filter inside the home. Air scrubbing addresses what is circulating in the air — professional carpet cleaning removes what's held inside the carpet. Clean the air. Clean the carpet. Complete the reset.

What air scrubbing does — and what it doesn't

A HEPA air scrubber pulls air through a sealed filter and captures airborne particles while it runs. That's genuinely useful during and right after a cleaning, because cleaning disturbs settled dust and sends it into the air you're breathing.

Here's the honest part: it treats the air in the room, not the source. Particles come back — from your ducts, your carpet, your pets, and your front door. Anyone telling you a single visit permanently fixes your indoor air is selling you something.

What we can tell you is exactly what changed in that room while we were there. We take a particle count before we start and after we finish, and we hand you both numbers.

When an Air Reset makes sense

Dusty or stuffy rooms

Visible dust returns fast, or a room never feels fresh no matter how much you clean.

Pet dander & odor

Dander and hair build up faster than vacuuming keeps up, or a pet smell greets you at the door.

Smoke or cooking odor

Lingering smoke, heavy cooking smells, or a previous occupant's habits.

Move-in / turnover

A new home, rental turnover, or listing that needs a documented fresh start.

After renovation

Construction dust that keeps reappearing weeks after the crew left.

Basement mustiness

Stale, musty air in basements and closed-up spaces.

Particles and VOC trends — what we're actually reading

Particles (PM2.5 & PM10)

Fine particles like dust, dander, pollen, and smoke residue, measured in micrograms per cubic meter. PM2.5 particles are small enough to stay airborne for hours. This is what commercial HEPA air scrubbers are built to capture — HEPA media is highly effective on airborne particles.

TVOC trend

Volatile organic compounds are gases — from cooking, cleaning products, paints, and odor sources. Consumer and field TVOC instruments identify trends: they don't identify every individual chemical or replace laboratory analysis. For odor-causing gases, we use activated-carbon filtration when appropriate, because HEPA alone doesn't capture gases.

How commercial HEPA air scrubbing works

  1. 1

    Pull the room's air through

A commercial air scrubber cycles the room's air through the machine continuously during treatment — many times the room's volume per hour.

  2. 2

    Capture what's circulating

HEPA media captures fine airborne particles; an activated-carbon stage can be added for certain odors and gases when the situation calls for it.

  3. 3

    Return cleaner air

Filtered air returns to the room while circulation keeps pulling suspended material toward the machine instead of letting it resettle.

Two ways to reset a room

Targets the air

OSO Air Reset

Commercial HEPA scrubbing that pulls airborne particles out of the room while it runs — no carpet cleaning required. Right for homes with hard floors, rooms that feel stale, or dust kicked up by recent work.

  • Initial indoor air assessment
  • Baseline readings where testing is included
  • Commercial HEPA air scrubbing
  • Activated-carbon odor filtration when appropriate
  • Final measurements and before-and-after summary

Exact treatment depends on the home, the contamination source, and the selected package.

Targets the air and carpet

Complete OSO Reset

Airborne particles don't remain airborne forever. Many settle into carpet and can be disturbed again through walking, vacuuming, and everyday activity. The Complete OSO Reset addresses both the air and one of the home's largest particle reservoirs: the carpet.

  • Everything in the Air Reset
  • Professional hot-water-extraction carpet cleaning
  • Targeted odor treatment where needed
  • Optional upholstery cleaning
  • Final measurements and before-and-after summary

Air filtration addresses particles while they're airborne. Carpet cleaning addresses material that has settled below. Combining both creates a more complete reset of the room — though no service removes all indoor contamination, and we won't tell you otherwise.

What are we addressing?

Pick your situation — we'll tell you honestly which service fits, including when the answer is "neither, until we've seen it."

What may be in the air

Dust and pet dander are light enough to stay suspended for hours, then resettle. Every footstep and vent cycle stirs a portion back into circulation.

What may be in the carpet

Carpet is one of the largest reservoirs in the home for settled dust and dander — vacuuming grabs the surface while the base of the pile keeps accumulating.

Recommended service

Complete OSO Reset

HEPA filtration helps reduce material circulating in the air, while carpet cleaning removes settled material held within carpet fibers.

What this service can and can't do

Readings are a snapshot. Air-quality readings document conditions at the time and location tested. Conditions may change due to HVAC operation, open doors or windows, outdoor air, occupant activity, and ongoing contamination sources.

HEPA has a job — and limits. HEPA filtration is highly effective for airborne particles, but it does not remove contamination embedded in carpet, padding, walls, subfloors, or other materials. Source treatment may be required for persistent odors. When source contamination is beyond a cleaning service — pad saturation, subfloor damage, HVAC systems, restoration work — we'll tell you in writing and hand you the name of someone who does that work well.

Instruments read trends, not certificates. Consumer and field TVOC instruments are used to identify trends. They do not identify every individual chemical or replace laboratory analysis.

Air Reset questions

Is an Air Reset the same as carpet cleaning?

No. An Air Reset focuses on airborne particles — HEPA scrubbing captures what is circulating in the air while the unit runs. Carpet cleaning removes soil and material trapped within the carpet. They can be booked separately or together as the Complete OSO Reset.

Do I have to clean my carpet?

No. An air-only option is available. However, carpet cleaning may be recommended when the carpet is likely holding dust, dander, smoke residue, or odor-producing material — carpet is one of the largest reservoirs of settled particles in a home.

Will I notice a difference?

Many customers notice fresher air or reduced odor, particularly when initial particle or odor conditions are elevated. Results vary depending on the contamination source and whether it remains active — which is why we check conditions first instead of promising outcomes.

Can you prove the service worked?

OSO can document before-and-after particle readings and other field measurements when included in the selected service. These readings show changes at the time and location measured — honest documentation, not a health certification.

Does the service remove every odor?

No service should guarantee removal without identifying and treating the source. Deep contamination in padding, subflooring, walls, HVAC systems, or personal belongings may require additional work — and if that's your situation, we'll tell you in writing and point you to someone who does that work well.

Does HEPA filtration remove VOCs?

HEPA filtration primarily captures particles. Activated carbon or other specialty media may be used for certain gases and odors. Results depend on the compound, the filter media, and the contamination source.
